Terms of Use

Telerau Defnyddio

These terms explain how you may use CardiffPal and what you can expect from us. They are written to be fair and easy to understand. By using this website, you agree to these terms.

About this service

CardiffPal is a free, independent civic information platform for Cardiff. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Cardiff Council. The service is built and operated by Code2Box, an AI solutions agency based in Cardiff. We provide it as a public good, with no charge to use it.

How we provide information

We gather information in good faith from official and publicly available sources, and we work to keep it accurate and up to date. However, some details change frequently and may be outside our control.

Always check time-sensitive or critical details directly with the council or the relevant body before relying on them. This includes, for example:

  • Bin and recycling collection days.
  • Opening hours of services, offices, or facilities.
  • Anything you would treat as an emergency.

CardiffPal is not an emergency service. In an emergency, always call 999. For non-emergency situations, contact the relevant official body directly.

Provided “as is”

We provide this website and its content on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without any warranty of any kind, whether express or implied. While we take care to be accurate, we do not guarantee that the information is complete, current, or free from error, and we do not guarantee that the site will always be available or uninterrupted.

Limitation of liability

You are responsible for any decisions you make. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or harm arising from decisions made solely on the basis of information on this site, or from your use of, or inability to use, the site. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under the law.

Links to other websites

This site contains links to council services and other third-party websites. Those sites are not under our control. We provide the links for convenience only, and including a link does not mean we endorse the linked site. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or availability of any external website.

Acceptable use

We ask that you use CardiffPal honestly and respectfully so that it stays useful for everyone. In particular, when using the report form or the government enquiry form, you must not:

  • Submit false, misleading, abusive, or malicious reports or messages.
  • Send spam, repeated junk submissions, or automated bulk content.
  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, probe, or gain unauthorised access to the service.
  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose, or to harass or harm others.

To protect against abuse, we keep a one-way hashed and shortened version of the sender's IP address with report submissions. We may withdraw access if the service is misused.
