Cookie Policy
Polisi Cwcis
This page explains the cookies CardiffPal uses. The short version: we use a single, strictly-necessary cookie to remember whether you want the site in English or Welsh. We do not use cookies to track you or to show advertising.
Statement last reviewed: June 2026.
Why there is no cookie banner
Under UK law (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations), cookies that are strictly necessary to provide a service the user has asked for do not require prior consent. The cardiffpal_lang cookie exists only to deliver the site in the language you have chosen, so it falls into that strictly-necessary category. For this reason we do not show a consent banner and there is nothing you need to agree to.
No analytics or advertising cookies
At present CardiffPal uses no analytics cookies and no advertising cookies, and no third-party tracking of any kind. There are no advertising networks, no social media trackers and no analytics pixels on this site.
If this ever changes, for example if we add privacy-respecting analytics, we will update this page first and, where the law requires it, we will ask for your consent before any non-essential cookie is set.
How to clear or block cookies
You stay in control. You can clear or block cookies at any time through your browser settings. Clearing the cardiffpal_lang cookie simply means the site will return to its default language until you choose again; nothing else is affected.
- Google Chrome: Settings โ Privacy and security โ Third-party cookies (or "Cookies and other site data"), where you can view, delete and block cookies.
- Safari: Settings (or Preferences) โ Privacy, where you can manage website data and block cookies.
- Microsoft Edge: Settings โ Cookies and site permissions โ Manage and delete cookies and site data.
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings โ Privacy & Security โ Cookies and Site Data, where you can clear or manage data.
- On a phone, look in your browser's Settings menu under Privacy for the same options.
Most browsers also let you block all cookies, or delete everything when you close the browser. If you block the cardiffpal_lang cookie, the site will still work but it will not remember your language between visits.
